IMS Engineering College (IMSEC) is an engineering and management college located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. The college is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Gautam Buddha Nagar.[1] The director of the institute is Dr.Sraban Mukherjee.

It is situated on 28 km milestone on Delhi-Hapur bypass and is 25 km (16 miles) from Delhi.

Admission

Admission is given on the basis of the rank obtained by the candidate in SEE-UPTU (Uttar Pradesh State Engineering Admission Test). This exam is conducted by Mahamaya Technical University(erstwhile UPTU). Around 250,000 students appear in this exam every year seeking admission to more than 500 engineering as well as management colleges affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University.

Some seats are also available by direct admission, for which a student has to apply directly in the college.

This department has faculty strength of over 09 with 2 technical staff. The college has 1 Computer center and 9 laboratories having more than 500 computers (with internet connectivity) along with IBM P- series server and software packages.

The department offers core courses in Humanities, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics and Applied Chemistry. This department has a language lab. The Department has the following lab:

Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2002 with an Undergraduate programme in Biotechnology. A Master’s course in Biotechnology was initiated in 2010. The department is actively engaged in research in a number of areas. However, it has consciously taken a decision to strengthen research activity in the area of Environmental Biotechnology with a view to develop practical solutions to environmental problems faced by industries and the municipalities. Environmental Engineering is a major challenge to Biotechnology because of the global concern for environmentally sustainable development. Biotechnology department is focusing on the following areas with labs  :

Civil Engineering

Technical development has shifted the regime of Civil Engineering to a new era which is opening creditable employment opportunities to the young Civil Engineers. The Department has grown tremendously over the years and is now recognized as one of the major engineering departments in the country. The department has developed strong links with the building and construction industry and academic and research , both with in and outside the country. Besides high quality teaching and instruction at UG level, the Department is actively involved in basic and applied research and consultancy and provides high quality technical advisory support through various R D projects and consultancy to various organizations. IMS Boy's Hostel

The institute has a in-campus hostel having both 2 and 3 seater rooms, for girls and boys with mess facility.The hostel provides round-the-clock security arrangements gym facilities are also available.
