Identity channel

In quantum information theory, the identity channel is a noise-free quantum channel. That is, the channel outputs exactly what was put in.^[1]

The identity channel is commonly denoted as $I$, ${\displaystyle {\mathsf {id}}}$ or $\mathbb {I}$.
