Ilya Osipov (Russian: Илья Викторович Осипов,^[1] born January 6, 1975) is a Russians IT businessman,^[2] media manager, blogger.^[3]

Ilya Osipov won Russian renown as the founder and owner of one of the largest Russian Web sites, NN.ru,^[4]^[5] which he sold 14 years later to Hearst Shkulev Media/InterMediaGroup.^[6] In 2006–2008, he was the director of the Moskva.com portal, and in 2009–2011, the owner and general director of the Birzha Plus Publishing House.^[7]

Mr. Osipov was the cofounder of the I2Istudy.com,^[8]^[9] Numbuster,^[10] and Bankrot.Pro^[11] startup projects, FedSP.com, etc. The range of Mr. Osipov's professional interests includes web-based and mobile applications, virality, and gamification. He took part in various projects as a startuper, investor, mentor, and manager. The projects that he has developed or participated in are the city portals of Nizhny Novgorod NN.ru^[12] and NNOV.ru,^[13] entertainment site NNOVER.ru, web portal Moskva.com (currently closed), mobile application Numbuster,^[10] language-learning platform I2IStudy.com, Banrkrot.pro, etc. He also took part in the development of the city portals ruKazan.ru, tumix.ru, www.dzerzhinsk.ru, etc. and cofounded the electronic commerce and logistics projects "Sovmestnaya Pokupka (Joint Purchase) in Nizhny Novgorod" and "Tsentry Razdach (Distribution Centers)".

Included in the advisory council in the "Professional Association of Mobile Application Developers",^[14] a member of the organization "AmBAR".

He also writes stories and novels,^[15] of an amateur grade, though, and is an amateur distance runner.

Professional career

1999: Mr. Osipov organized his own business, the Internet company NN.ru, jointly with M. Iosilevich and was its director till 2001.
1999–2012: NN.ru became the largest Internet company in Nizhny Novgorod and the recognized leader in the fields of web-based solutions and Internet media. NN.ru is the city-largest Internet site that reflects all aspects of the city life, and has three affiliate Internet companies. Currently, the entire group of companies employs over 40 people, and the annual turnover over three offices in Nizhny Novgorod exceeds $1.5M.
2002–2013: Joint-Stock Company "WWW.NNOV.RU", an NN.ru competitor, was purchased and brought out of the pre-bankruptcy state. The corporate debts were paid, the company was restructured and started operating in a stable and profitable manner. In 2003–2006, its yield increased by 16 times. Currently, NNOV.ru is the second-largest company in Nizhny Novgorod after NN.ru.
2006–2007: The Internet company Moskva.com was founded in Moscow. Mr. Osipov participated as a cofounder and the director. By the end of 2006, the monthly traffic ranking of the Moskva.com site reached almost 2 million visitors. Mr. Osipov left in 2007 due to disagreements with a majority stakeholder.
2009: Mr. Osipov took part in the Alloka project as a mentor and investor.
2009–2011: Mr. Osipov purchased the Birzha Plus Publishing House, an oldest publishing company in Nizhny Novgorod (1 web site, 1 magazine, 4 weekly newspapers), became the director of the company, reorganized its operations, and sold the company in the beginning of 2011.
2010: The share in Alloka was sold.
2012: Conceptual development of the I2IStudy.com^[16] project started.
2012: Preparation for the sale of NN.ru started. NN.ru was purchased by Hearst Shkulev Media,^[17] an affiliate of the Hearst Group, a largest player in the printed press market.
2012: The Numbuster project was conceived and its prototypes began to be developed.
