India's Most Reputed Brands is an annual research on the Reputation of Brands based on perceptions of consumers and media. The study is published by,BlueBytes News[4] a media analytics and Reputation Measurement company in association with TRA Research,[5] a brand insights firm and also the publisher of The Brand Trust Report[6] and India's Most Attractive Brands.[7] Both companies are a part of the Comniscient Group.

Reputation, which can be thought of as a shorthand for quality, is based on the attitude of Respect exuded by the brand - revealed in terms of appropriate regard of 'value'. Bluebytes has defined Reputation as a measure of the effectiveness of transmitted belief about attitudes showcasing Respect. Thus, in measuring Reputation, both aspects have to be considered, the attitudes of Respect as understood by the stakeholders and the media's carriage and transmission of the brand's respect.

For the Aviation Industry players in India, the sky is both the literal and metaphorical playground for their brands. In an industry where most players provide very similar services and the differentiation is barely visible, having a good Reputation is an essential part of the branding story.

Within the Aviation Industry, 21 airline brands with measureable media coverage were selected for the study. Bluebytes tracked these brands' news in all major English and Hindi print media (newspapers and magazines) across 9 cities as a representative of the news across all publications. More than 30,000 articles related to different Aviation brands were captured in the period between June 15, 2015 and June 16, 2016. These articles were marked for the visibility and tonality of the aviation brand to give a Perception Score. Further, the associate partner of this research, TRA Research, conducted a primary survey on understanding consumer-influencer perception of the brands on the attitude of Respect exuded for the Aviation brands through their proprietary matrix to give the Respect Score. The multiplication of these two scores gave the Bluebytes Brand Rep Score which has been used for analysis of these brands.
