International School of Luxembourg

The International School of Luxembourg a.s.b.l. (ISL; formerly American International School of Luxembourg or AISL), is a privately owned non-for-profit school in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. The school has over forty nationalities amongst over 950 students. It is located on Campus Geesseknäppchen, along with several other educational institutions, which is in the quarter of Hollerich, in the south-west of the city.[1]

The International School of Luxembourg has students from pre-school through twelfth grade and offers a comprehensive selection of sports and after school activities. ISL offers IGCSEs for students in the 9th and 10th grade[2] and the International Baccalaureate program for students in their final two years of school (11th and 12th grade).[3][4]

The sports teams take part in the Northwest European Council of International Schools (NECIS) tournament, in which ISL compete against other International Schools in Europe. They compete in Football, Basketball, Track & Field, Swimming, Volleyball and Rugby. The team goes by the name of the Eagles.

The International School of Luxembourg participates in and manages the Global Issues Network.[5][6]

Weekend programmes

The Japanese Supplementary School in Luxembourg (ルクセンブルグ補習授業校 Rukusenburugu Hoshū Jugyō Kō), a Japanese supplementary school,[7] is held at ISL. Its operations began there in 1991 and it serves students ages 6–15.[8]
