Jaanu is a 2012 Kannada action-romance film directed by Preetham Gubbi and produced by Jayanna combines. Yash and Deepa Sannidhi are the lead actors while Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Shobaraj among others play the supporting roles. V. Harikrishna is the score and soundtrack composer.[2] The film released across Karnataka state on 1 June 2012.[1]

Production

Development

Following the debacle of Haage Summane and success of Johny Mera Naam Preethi Mera Kaam, Preetham Gubbi teamed up yet again with the Jayanna combines banner. Jayanna and Bogendra were producers for his earlier films too.

Filming

The film Jaanu is shot at Sakleshpur, Gulbarga, Bidar and Bengaluru The talkie portions completed shoot also completed the dubbing at Aakash Recording Studio.

Casting

Deepa Sannidhi, a much sought after actress with two hits in the last year - Saarathi and Paramathma is in her third film with Yash. Rangayana Raghu, Shobaraj, Sangeetha, Madhu, Sadhu Kokila, Layendra are also in the supporting cast.

Crew Members

Krishna is behind the camera and V. Harikrishna has scored the music. Deepu S Kumar editing, Ismail art direction, Harsha, Murali and Chinni Prakash stunts are part of the technical team in Jaanu.[3]

Box Office

Jaanu was a much anticipated film and got a good opening at the box office, due to hit songs and youth fan following of Yash. But the film met with mixed response upon release, although it went on to be commercially successful at the box office by completing 50 days of run.[4]

V. Harikrishna composed the film's background score and music for its soundtrack. The album consists of five tracks.[5] Lyrics for the tracks were penned by Yogaraj Bhat and Jayant Kaikini. The album released on 13 May 2012.[6]
