Jabez Wolffe

Jabez Wolffe (ca. 1877 - October 22, 1943) attempted to swim the English Channel from 1906 to 1914 in 21 attempts.

Biography

The closest attempt was in 1908, which failed by yards. Three other occasions were by under a mile. He died in 1943.[1]
