The Jackson's widowbird (Euplectes jacksoni) is a species of bird in the Ploceidae family. It is found in Kenya and Tanzania. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland and arable land. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Jackson's widowbirds exhibit distinct sexual dimorphism. Males and females exhibit differences in behavior and morphological traits.
During mating season the male changes color and grows an tail, builds a nest in the grasslands and does a spectacular leaping fan-dance to woo the female.[2]
