Jacupiranga State Park was the second largest conservation area in São Paulo having a total area of approximately 150,000 hectares (1,500 km2.).[2] The area contains large tracts of Atlantic Forest.[3] The park was designated in 1969, and was named for the municipality Jacupiranga.[4] The park was categorized as a National park under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.[5] The conservation unit was part of the Lagamar Mosaic.[6]

On 21 February 2008 the Jacupiranga State Park was dissolved and replaced by the much larger Jacupiranga Mosaic, containing three state parks and 11 other conservation units.[7]
