Biography

Private life

Jain was born on February 7, 1992 in Toulouse, France. She travelled the world to follow the professional requirements of her father. She lived in the Congo where she found some of her influences and her taste for danceable melodies.

She also lived in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, before moving to Paris where she started a pre art school foundation course. These trips influenced her musical style. She also learned how to play the drums in Pau, Arabic percussion in the Middle East and musical programming in Congo.[2]

Career

Jain began composing demo tracks in Pointe-Noire, Congo-Brazzaville. There, she met Mr. Flash, who introduced her to musical programming. She then published her demo tracks on MySpace, where she was noticed by Dready, her current manager. Yodelice also discovered these tracks and invited Jain to meet him in Paris. They then began to work together, and Yodelice helped to launch her career.[3]

Jain was a supporting artist for Yodelice's tour.[4] They appeared together on the television show Taratata in 2013 and performed a duet cover of Redemption Song.[5]

Yodelice became her producer and notably worked on her first EP : Hope. The EP contains the title Come, which met with some success in France and also in Poland, where it is used as jingle by the television channel Polsat.[6]

Jain performed at the 2015 Solidays Festival, the BIG Festival (Biarritz International Groove) in Biarritz and Bebop Festival.[4][7]

Her first album, Zanaka[8], was released on means "child" in Malagasy and this title is a tribute to her mother who is of Franco-Malagasy origin. Zanaka was certified as a Gold record in February 2016 after having sold over 50,000 copies in France.[9]

In 2016, she was one of the nominees at the Victoires de la Musique Awards in the category "Album Révélation" for her album Zanaka[10].
