James Hitselberger

James Hitselberger is a former United States Navy linguist who was charged with violating the Espionage Act of 1917.[1] [2] He worked as an Arabic translator for the United States Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.[3] He was the seventh person charged by the Obama administration with violating the Espionage Act.[1][4] Ultimately, Hitselberger accepted a plea deal, that resulted in a misdemeanor conviction, and the espionage charge was dropped.[5]
