James O'Connor (academic)

James O'Connor (born 1930) is an American sociologist and economist.[1]

He is co-founder[2] and was Editor-in-Chief (19882003)[3] of Capitalism, Nature, Socialism: A Journal of Socialist Ecology, and Director of the Center for Political Ecology in Santa Cruz, California.[4] He is retired from teaching sociology, economics, and environmental studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz.[4] He was an Emeritus Professor of Sociology and Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
