Janet Torome Sision is a Kenyan actress, model and makeup artist best known for her role as Rita on Kenya's Citizen TV drama Tabasamu. She is also popularly known to the African audience for her role as Wangui on East Africa's first ever telenovela, Kona. In 2015, she began starring in the new series Skandals Kibao alongside Avril.

Early life and Education

She pursued a course in Business Management and Human Resource Management.

Career

Early career; 2009-10: Tabasamu

Sision's major breakthrough performance was her role in Tabasamu, where she starred along with Rosemary Waweru and Minnie Gachegu.[1]

Noose of Gold, Demigods, Shattered

She later starred in NTV's Noose of Gold,[2] Demi gods and the movie Shattered that premiered in late 2011.[1]

2013-2014; Kona

She made her comeback in 2013, in Kenya's telenovela Kona, where she shared credits with Nini Wacera and Lwanda Jawar.[3]

2015-present; Skandals Kibao

In August 2015, she was the protagonist in Mary Migui's new soap opera, Skandals kibao, together with Lwanda Jawar, Avril, George Mo and Muthoni Gathecha. This was also her second project with Lwanda Jawar. She played Christine, a sweet young lady about to get married with her longtime boyfriend, John. She later gets into twists and turns that are full of lies, deceit and unlimited scandals.[1] Apart from acting she is a make up artist. She has also stated that her role model is Nigerian actress Rita Dominic.[4]
