Jay Williams (guitarist/composer)
Jay Williams is a British musician who originally co-founded Broken Family Band with Steven James Adams Micky Roman and Gavin Johnson - Jay was also the guitarist in Cambridge based indie rock band Hofman. (both bands appeared on John Peel's radio sessions)
Jay has recently crowd funded and released a double vinyl album entitled 'The Nature of Things' (title inspired by De rerum natura ) - under the name 'Jay Williams & i strip for couples'. 'The Nature of Things' is a sprawling rap/rock/indie/alt country/classical album, involving around 40 instrumentalists from various Cambridge bands/orchestras, including Broken Family Band's bass player Gavin Johnson and Micky Roman on drums, plus drums from Neil Rogers and Chad Young (from Hofman) . Jay is currently working on two albums (Oct, 2015); a long over due heavy rock/metal album provisionally entitled 'Red Light Shift' and a 70's inspired return to a more alt-country sound, provisionally entitled 'my god damn heavy metal heart' both due to be released under Jay's label 'Touching Cloth Records' in 2016.
