Jean Richard (historian)

Jean Barthélémy Richard (born 7 February 1921) is a French historian, who specializes in medieval history. He is an authority on the Crusades, and his work on the Latin missions in Asia has been qualified as "unsurpassed".[1] Richard is a member of the Institut de France. He has been President of the prestigious Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres in 2002. He was born in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France.[2]
