Jeff Teague is a record producer, music executive, musician and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee, USA. His touring and recording credits include: Ricky Skaggs, Harry Chapin, Kathy Mattea, Keith Stegall, Ray Stevens, Steve Forbert, Lobo, Great Plains and Paul Overstreet.

Early life

Teague received his education in instrumental performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and his education in business administration from Palm Beach Jr. College in Palm Beach, Florida.[1]

Career

After attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, he worked in some of New York's premier venues and studios, as well as a musician in the Broadway productions of Oh Calcutta! The Best Little Whorehouse in TX, and Annie. Upon arriving from New York to Nashville, Jeff Teague co-founded Stillman/Teague Music Productions and was producer and managing partner. At Stillman/Teague, he was responsible for ongoing business management, account development and company promotion. He composed and produced award winning advertising and audio/visual music, including projects for Procter & Gamble, Bell Telephone, PBS Fine Arts Campaign and Cascom International.[2]

Following, Stillman/Teague he served as managing partner and producer for Music Business, Inc., where Teague was responsible for company co-management and account development for internal and external music business entities. There he produced music for artist showcases, publishing catalogues and broadcast/media applications. His vocal talent production credits include: T. Graham Brown, Pam Tillis, Trisha Yearwood and Joe Diffie while project highlights include: TNN video segments, Crook & Chase "Weekdays" theme, Hurricane Hugo PBS Special and Acme Boot campaign.

In 1990, Teague became owner and president of Earworks/Overdub Music. During the next four years, he was responsible for independent A&R, music production, publishing, artist development and showcasing. Teague developed songwriters, copyrights and publishing catalogues licensed through ASCAP and BMI. He handled the negotiation and execution of contracts, as well as song and copyright licensing and registration. The client roster includes: Warner Chappell Music, Columbia Records, Capitol Records, MCA/Universal and Word Records.

From 1994 - 1999 Teague served as GM/Vice President for Word Nashville/Time Warner. His responsibilities included structuring, overseeing and operating the firm's Record Division and supervising the marketing and A&R staff. He represented his division and parent company, Gaylord Entertainment, for industry-wide events and functions. Teague was responsible for the presentation of completed projects at sales conferences and followed through with marketing and sales divisions to maximize exposure for each release. He was A&R direction/executive producer for projects featuring Collin Raye, Kenny Rogers, Ricky Van Shelton, Skip Ewing and Gary Chapman, and compilation projects featuring Patty Loveless, Rick Trevino, Shenandoah, Ricky Skaggs and Doug Stone among others, for sales and marketing in the Country and Christian marketplace.[3]

From 2000-2006, Teague was creative direction/producer for Seventeen Grand Studios[4] in Nashville.

Since 2007,[5] Teague has served as president and general manager of Artist & Repertoire, LLC.[6] The company provides outsourced A&R support to artists and industry and is located in Nashville.[7] Recent projects include representing Jim Labriola, whose many credits include: Recurring TV cast roles on "Home Improvement", A&E Specials "Comedy On The Road" / "Caroline's Comedy Hour" and Feature Film roles in Disney's " The Santa Clause" and "Joe Somebody" for 20th Century Fox.

His development and production work landed Alecia Elliot a recording contact with MCA/Universal and on-screen roles with "All About Us" and "Tom Sawyer". Similar efforts led to the writing and production of the Emmy Award Winning "I Won't Let My Guard Down" campaign for the National Guard featuring Darby Ledbetter. This campaign resulted in the placement of the music video in major theater chains national wide and live performances at the Reagan Center in Washington, D.C. / NASCAR's Atlanta Motor Speedway, and the 2010 World Series on FOX. Recording and Touring & recording credits include: Harry Chapin, Lobo, Ricky Skaggs, Ray Stevens, Kathy Mattea, Steve Forbert, Wet Willie and Paul Overstreet among others.

Jeff Teague is a signatory and/or member affiliated with: CMA, GMA, NARAS Producer's & Engineers Wing, American Federation of Musicians-AFM and SAG-AFTRA, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and SOCAN.
