Jessie Stricchiola

Jessie Stricchiola is a search engine marketing/SEO professional who in 2003, along with Barbara Coll, established the international, non-profit Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO).[1]

Stricchiola has been working in SEO since 1997, as a consultant in Massachusetts. In 1999 she moved to Los Angeles and founded her own SEO company, Alchemist Media, Inc. It is now based in San Francisco.[2]

Click fraud

Stricchiola and Alchemist Media are credited with having been one of the first to identify and publicly expose click fraud in pay per click Web search engine advertising in 2001. She won significant refunds for her customer from GoTo.com and FindWhat.com.[3]

She has been a speaker at ad:tech,[4] Search Engine Strategies,[5] Search Marketing Expo,[6] Web 2.0 in San Francisco,[7] and PubCon.[8] She is CEO of Alchemist Media Inc., a company she founded in 2002 to provide SEO, PPC, and click fraud detection services.

Stricchiola is co-author of the book The Art of SEO: Mastering Search Engine Optimization, published in 2009 by O'Reilly Media, ISBN 978-0596518868. It was given top reviews by Search Engine Land,[9] the British Computer Society,[10] and ComputerWorld magazine.[11] A second edition was published in 2012.[12]

She has been engaged as a subject matter expert in litigation involving internet and search technology, including the Lane's Gifts & Collectibles class action lawsuit[3][13] settled by Google for $90 million, and a Twitter defamation suit brought against Courtney Love in 2011[14]
