JetHead Development, Inc. (a.k.a. JetHead) is a software services company based in Carlsbad, California, specializing in embedded software for consumer electronic devices.
Overview
JetHead Development Inc. provides project based embedded software services to help its customers design, develop, test and deploy digital video and CE solutions. Customers include: multichannel video programming distributors, STB Middleware vendors, Semiconductor companies and CE manufacturers. JetHead currently employs approximately 70 people.
History
The JetHead founders, as PropHead Development, have set‐top box experience dating back to 1994 when they were engaged during the early days of digital video distribution to work on DIRECTV set‐top‐box software for Hughes Network Systems.
JetHead Development was formed in 2003, specifically to develop CDI device drivers for DIRECTV’s new middleware in development. This STB middleware was launched by DIRECTV in 2005. Since that time, JetHead has expanded its work to include System Architecture, Middleware development, Middleware Porting, development of Drivers for semiconductor vendors, multiple test suites, and overall system debug.
