Jewish Life Television (JLTV) is a 24-hour, full-time TV network delivering Jewish–themed programming. The network was founded in 2007 by Phil Blazer, a longtime journalist and producer of programming for the Jewish community.[1][2]
JLTV's programming includes news, sports, lifestyle and entertainment programming such as films, documentaries, music, reviews, interviews and special events, such as programming from the Maccabiah Games.[3] The 2010 reality series In Over Our Heads featured Orthodox Jews in the Boston suburb of Sharon, and became the network's most popular program.[4]
JLTV's broadcast facilities are in Los Angeles. In the United States, JLTV is available to 40 million households through DirecTV, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Google Fiber, Atlantic Broadband, Bright House, and independent cable systems.
Canadian distribution
On January 26, 2011, Jewish Life Television was officially added to the CRTC's approved list of foreign services, allowing the channel to expand into Canada. Ethnic Channels Group, who sponsored the application to get JLTV on the approved list, is the official Canadian distributor of the channel.[5]
On July 17, 2014, JLTV officially launched in Canada on Bell Fibe TV.
