Indrajit Solomon Arulampalam (known as Jitto Arulampalam) is an Australian businessman of Sri Lankan Tamil origin. He is the current Chairman of Progen Pharmaceuticals Limited and the Executive Chairman of Lanka Graphite Limited and was the Chairman of Euro Petroleum Limited, Great Western Exploration Limited, Fortis Mining Limited and Medivision Limited.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Australian Financial Review MIS Magazine 2006 recognized him as one of the Top 25 global rising stars.[1][2]

Education

Jitto did his schooling at Casuarina High School and then completed his Bachelor of Business Administration at Curtin University. He also attended at Australian Institute of Company Directors.[1][11]

Career

He is based in Melbourne with over two decades experience in corporate restructuring, capital raising, listing and running of public companies on the ASX.[1]

Jitto's first job was in accounting and then shifted into banking; he was with Westpac Banking Corporation for more than eight years in various senior managerial positions.[1]

Jitto is the co-founder of Fortis Mining Ltd., a company dedicated to potash mining and exploration; the company is listed at Australian Securities Exchange. He was credited for masterminding the Fortis's acquisition of high quality potash assets in Kazakhstan. The deal paved the way for the company to be awarded "IPO of the Year 2011".[1][12]

Social activities

Jitto visited war-ravaged Jaffna as the co-sponsor of Murali Harmony Cup in 2014; OYOB where Jitto is the chairman jointly sponsored the Cup to develop and encourage school cricketers in Sri Lanka's rural areas, especially in the war-affected north and east, promoting community-building and cross-cultural friendships within Sri Lankan society.[13][14]
