Job Mathew Raikes
Job Mathew Raikes (1767–1833)[1] was Governor of the Bank of England from 1801 to 1802. He had been Deputy Governor from 1799 to 1801. He replaced Samuel Thornton as Governor and was succeeded by Joseph Nutt.[2]
Raikes married Charlotte Bayly, daughter of Nathaniel Bayly MP. Charles Raikes, writer on India, was their son.[1]
