Joelma is the solo debut album of paraense singer Joelma, released on April 29, 2016, by the Universal Music. The album features 14 songs and is composed of 4 tracks EP EP Joelma, released digitally in March 2016, a music remake "Barca Furada" the Banda Calypso (band that was Joelma singer for more than 15 years) and other 9 unreleased tracks.

In this project, which marks the single phase and independent Joelma, the artist signs the composition of the "Tua Face" music, the executive production and also shares the musical direction with the experienced producer and arranger Tovinho. Besides having the special participation of Nathália, Yago and Yasmin, children of the singer, in the track "O Amor de Deus", the composition of the consecrated Michael Sullivan.

The singles chosen to release the album were "Voando Pro Pará", "Não Teve Amor" and "Ai Coração". The album was set for pre-sale at Saraiva's website on April 14, 2016.

Background

After her separation from ex-husband Ximbinha, Joelma announced in Programa da Sabrina, which aired on August 29, 2015 which is rejoining the Banda Calypso in December and follow solo career, with the same rhythm that gave prominence to it:

"I know it's been difficult, all at the beginning is difficult, but not impossible".

The press office confirms the words of Joelma and that it would be called artistically Joelma Calypso.[5] Sites speculated that she could follow gospel career, but the singer made it clear that intended to continue following the rhythm that consecrated the world stage. In a show held in Goiânia, in August 28, the singer thanked the support of the fans and reinforced his departure from Banda Calypso with last appointment on December 31, and then begin to "serve God" singing calypso rhythm.[6]

After the controversial divorce, signed in Recife, Joelma invested in solo career. In October 2015, she recorded with the Banda Musa, the song "Amor de Fâ", and participated in the DVD recording of the band playing the song.

Production

On new directions in career Joelma said the main difference he noticed was to have taken "the reins of everything": "I was accommodated, always everyone driving my work and my life now reborn one Joelma I thought. that no longer existed, that there from the beginning. I was surprised with myself".

Acceptance of the fans proved to be a surprise for the singer, who is believed to have raised the largest number of fan clubs after the dissolution of the band, "99% of Fan clubs of Banda Calypso migrated to Joelma. it was a very good surprise, did not expect, I was very happy because it lifted me up faster and made me forget the past"[7]

Besides the fans, all the ballet and technical team of Banda Calypso followed Joelma on his solo career. According Joelma, this was the result of what she has planted over the years and see the whole band and crew supporting him was something essential.

All songs contain the theme of overcoming a painful love – quite in keeping with the latest happenings in the life of Joelma, who separated from Ximbinha in 2015. But what draws attention is the mix of styles, as arrocha and tecnobrega – and the process of creating melodies was closely followed by Joelma, who confessed to having given guess at all, something she did not at the time of the Banda Calypso. For these reasons, the album has been widely praised in critical it came out.[8]

The album features the song "O Amor de Deus," where she sings with children Nathália, Yago and Yasmin:

"It was wonderful record with them. At home everybody sings and everybody plays. Yasmin plays guitar, plays the piano and sings. The Yago also plays and sings, Natalia just sings. So we had this idea and it was exciting. The mother's heart beat faster to see them growing, developing this gift, so it was a real gift for me".[9]

During the program É do Pará, live in Belém, on November 21, 2015, Joelma sang a snippet of a new song that would be part of his first solo CD. In the music section, the letter said:

"Well, who knocks forget / Who gets no / Take all your illusion and go live with her / Yeah, I told you and the world spun / I've found a new love / You was the one who lost, lost me / You made me another, he made me unique / you gave me pleasure, he gave me love / And you better".[10]

When asked about the song the following year, in an interview for the radio "FM O Dia", Joelma said he had not yet recorded the song in the studio at the time, and when I was recording with the band for the album, saw the music I had not worked in the studio. He concluded by saying that the song may be released in the future on another album after working a little more on it, with new arrangements.

Release

Initially, the singer had plans to release the album in January 2016, along with clips from "Pa'lante" and "Te Quiero", but was delayed due to the contract with the label Universal Music Group.

In March 8, 2016, the singer signed to the label, giving kickoff in his solo career, stamp responsibility and the rights of artist images, along with the dissemination and promotion shows.[11]

In the early disclosure of their new songs Joelma named his new career solo Joelma Calypso, but chose to follow just like Joelma.

The fans gave guess the new logo of the singer, who used the same typography used in the logo Banda Calypso. The Joelma name itself has earned the image of a boot in place of the letter L, an allusion to the boots she always wore on stage and turned his trademark. The crown on the boot came from the fans, "They call me the queen all the time," said Joelma.

The photos for the cover, liner notes and disclosure the album were photographed in 2015. In an interview for the radio FM O Dia with Léo Dias,[12] Joelma revealed that the inspiration to use the theme of comics on the album came from fans. In meetings at the airport or after the show, fans used to call the singer of heroin for overcoming all the difficulties of 2015.

About the album name to take the name of the singer, Joelma wanted to emphasize its involvement in all the album creation process, something she did not at the time of the Banda Calypso "The arrangements were 40% mine and are now 100% like me. I'm 100% me".

Singles

"Voando pro Pará" is the first promotional single, being released months before any announcement on the CD or EP. It was composed by Crystian Lima and Isack Maraial. In early December 2015, the demo version of the song leaked on the web. The official version, containing more elements, was launched by the singer a week later, on December 9, 2015 in his Facebook page and in four hours, had already been heard by over 22 thousand people. "Voando Pro Pará" pays homage to the home state of Joelma where he began successful career that leveraged to Brazil. The letter cites several sights of Belém as Mangal of Herons and the Ver-o-Peso, and highlights the local cuisine, citing typical dishes such as tacacá, peach palm and acai. "It is a tribute to Pará, Belém, who will turn 400 years," said the singer. The video for "Voando Pro Pará" was aired between January and March during commercials TV Liberal, an affiliate of Rede Globo in Pará. The clip was produced by TV Liberal in celebration of the 400-year anniversary of Belém, celebrated on January 12, and shows only the sights of Belém, local cuisine and elements mentioned in the song. In all, the song has three versions: the leaked demo version in December 2015, the version recorded for the birthday of Belém and it was included on the album.

"Ai Coração" was released on January 21, 2016 for listening and download on the social networks of the singer, who also used the stage name "Joelma Calypso". During the launch, the singer's fans joined Twitter for disclosure and release of the song. The Internet was the 8th most talked Tag in the world and 5th in Brazil and in less than 24 hours more than 100 thousand people have downloaded and listened to music. The song was plagiarism target. Composed by Louro Santos, who confirmed having it transferred to Joelma, the song was recorded by Jade singer in December of the previous year, album production Ximbinha, which infuriated the fans . Through the press office, Jade complained about the impact: "It is an honor that the talented and great Joelma singer also record a composition Louro Santos, which is already part of Jade singer's album repertoire since July 2015, as stated. However, some fans of Joelma (a minority, it is worth mentioning) go distilling, in social networks, hatred against Jade, the producer Ximbinha and his team, in social networks and the worst: without any need. Jade you can not modify your playlist, which is already recorded".[13] In an interview for the radio FM O Dia, Joelma said the song, originally, would be the first official single from his solo career. "Ai Coração" and "Não Teve Amor" were sent together to the radio stations and broadcasters decide which touch and "Não Teve Amor" was always the most requested public. The version that was made available for download differs from the album version only the vignette "Joelma Calypso" which was included in the first recordings.

"Não Teve Amor" It was announced as the first official single from the album after the success it did on the radio and internet. It was composed by Marília Mendonça, Juliano Tchula and Rangel Castro. On January 28, 2016 the song was made available for download on the social networks of the singer, a week after "Ai Coração" is released. Along with the launch, a surprise for fans: a clip. In this clip, Joelma shows a beautiful and simple interpretation in the studio with the band. The song was played repeatedly on the radio and on YouTube surpassed the barrier of one million views. The launch was so thunderous that broadcasters and websites commented the letter can be interpreted as a message to her ex-husband: "There are things in life that we do not lose, we are free." Asked about the letter during an interview for the radio FM O Dia, Joelma said the letter could be interpreted in various ways and talking about getting rid of the bad things in general: a false friend, a bad job, etc. Due to the success in the media, the song became the first official work of music, instead of "Ai Coração".

Located in Boa Viagem, the place has a medieval setting, the way the artist sought from the beginning. Joelma chose to wear a blue dress, matching the color of the sea. A classic model with very long tail and signed by the designer Marco Brandão. The model was exactly the way the singer imagined. "I wanted a very beautiful dress that caught the attention and stand out, and he did exactly as I wanted, in addition to a medieval air to match the place chose" – Joelma. Reception

The album in general received positive reviews.

Vinicius Cunha of the website "Gshow" said the record marks the overcoming after the tumultuous divorce and the departure of the band late last year, is an open letter from a woman well settled and willing to conquer the world another one turn. Joelma, the lead singer of the release, is considered "Não Teve Amor" and the singer discovered that there is a post-term relationship life and she delivers a hit candidate to the mold of the success of the former group, Caribbean calypso dominating the track. ''Se Vira Aí" comes as a zouk with electronic elements, showing that Joelma is focused on treading on the betrayal suffered. The singer says that who left losing in the coexistence was the other side. "Ai Coração" announces a nostalgic ballad, it is not overnight that one forgets a love, and Joelma knows it. But he also has knowledge that is much greater than the phase that seeks to unravel. The verses prove that the wound is still open, but that it is about to go around. "A Página Virou" is seen as an unusual encounter of Calypso's repertoire with Sarajane's "A Roda" and is considered one of the best tracks on the CD. A renewed Joelma is to come on her solo debut and "A Página Virou" is her biggest test.
