Johannes Pfeiffer (8 December 1916 – 26 December 1994) was a highly decorated Hauptmann in the Luftwaffe during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. During his career he flew 200 combat missions. In 1956 he joined the Bundeswehr and rose to the rank of Oberst, retiring in 1975.
