John Hempsey (1889 - 2 August 1938) was a former Scottish footballer. He played with Rangers, Greenock Morton and Kilmarnock.
Hempsey began his career at Port Glasgow before moving to Greenock Morton in 1911. He joined Rangers a year later and would make 150 appearances during his eight-year spell.[1] After two loan spells at Morton and Kilmarnock he joined King's Park for a year. He returned to Greenock for a final season before retiring.
