John Newton Martin (3 July 1867 31 August 1942) was an English cricketer. Martin's batting and bowling styles are unknown. He was born in St Austell, Cornwall.

In 1891, he played a single first-class match for the Marylebone Cricket Club against Somerset at the County Ground, Taunton.[1] A decade later he played in Devon's inaugural Minor Counties Championship match against Glamorgan.[2] He captained the county in this match, making him Devon's first captain. From 1901 to 1903, he played 12 matches for Devon, the last of which came against Glamorgan.[3]

He died in Torquay, Devon on 31 August 1942.
