Jose Rafael Evangelista Diaz (born April 3, 1968) is a former mayor of San Mateo, Rizal in the Philippines.[1][2] He took office on June 30, 2007.
Prior to his becoming mayor, Diaz was Municipal Administrator for the San Mateo Rizal Municipal Government. Prior to that, he worked as a stock broker and financial analyst.
Personal life
Diaz is a son of former Mayor Jose F. Diaz and Leticia E. Diaz. He attended Marist School - Marikina. He later graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is married to Cristina Cristi-Diaz and they have four children.
Political Career
He allow his wife to run as Vice Mayor and then Mayor to replace him, establishing the Political Dynasty of Diaz's in San Mateo, Rizal.
