Monica Emma Josefin Nilsson, registered as Monica Emma Josefina Nilsson (22 March 1969 – 29 February 2016)[2] was a Swedish singer and actress.

Biography

Born in När, Gotland,[1] Josefin Nilsson was the daughter of revue artist and songwriter Allan Nilsson. Her older sister Marie Nilsson Lind is also a singer and a member of Ainbusk.

Her debut album titled Shapes was released on 23 March 1993. The music and lyrics were written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. Benny Andersson was also the producer of the album. In 2005 she competed at the Melodifestivalen (Swedish national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest) with the song "Med hjärtats egna ord."

She also performed with Gotlandic pop/folk group Ainbusk.

An Estonian-language cover version of Josefin Nilsson's "Surprise, Surprise" was made in 1995. It was named "Sa muutsid kõik" and performed by Estonian pop singer Nancy.[3]

Nilsson died in her home in Gotland on 29 February 2016, a few weeks before her 47th birthday.[4]
