Junk Ensemble

Junk Ensemble (styled junk ensemble) is a dance theater company, working in a genre related to Tanztheater. The company was established in 2004 by identical twin sisters Jessica Kennedy and Megan Kennedy. The company is based in Dublin, Ireland and its work tours throughout Europe as well as in North America.

Awards

The company won the Dublin Fringe Festival Best Production Award in 2011 for its production Bird with boy,[1][2] and its production Drinking Dust was listed as an Irish Times Highlight in 2011. junk ensemble won the Culture Ireland Touring Award in 2008,[3] and its production The Rain Party won the Excellence and Innovation Award in 2007.

The Sunday Times (UK) has written that "junk ensemble has created some of the most impressive contemporary dance in Ireland of recent years" [4] and Irish Theatre Magazine said that Junk Ensemble "do not disappoint in artistic experiment with bold visual staging and musical adventuring."[5]
