KC Koloski

Karen Charlene "K.C." Koloski (played by Marg Helgenberger) was a character on the Vietnam-era television drama China Beach. K.C. was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and she was often referred to as "K.C. from KC".

Although originally sent to Vietnam to work as a typist, K.C. became a businesswoman of sorts, dabbling in everything from prostitution to running a beauty shop to selling cars. It was made clear that K.C. was not a "hooker with a heart of gold"; she was willing to do whatever it would take to make a business deal and increase her wealth.

Throughout the duration of China Beach, K.C. was romantically linked to many men, most importantly Boonie. She formed close friendships with Cherry White and Colleen McMurphy.

K.C. was often the subject of dramatic storylines. In the second season, it is revealed that she has become addicted to heroin and morphine. In the fourth and final season, a storyline is developed addressing how K.C. became pregnant shortly after arriving in Vietnam and entrusted her daughter to a Vietnamese woman. A recurring theme throughout the show was how K.C. was sexually abused by her father and how it deeply affected her. K.C. paid for boarding school for her younger sister, to get her sister away from their father.
