KMRE-LP (102.3 Low power FM) is a radio station broadcasting historical, educational, cultural and local programming. The station is licensed to, and broadcast from the SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention[1] in Bellingham, Washington.
KMRE-LP focuses on showcasing The SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention’s vast and diverse media collection featuring music from the earliest sound recordings in 1888 through the late 1940s, emphasizing the Golden Age of Radio and music which is rarely heard elsewhere. The station is also geared toward cultivating local programming that provides educational, cultural and historical value to its listeners. KMRE also welcomes participation from anyone in the community, and promotes freedom of creativity amongst its staff, talent and volunteers.[2]
The FCC granted KMRE-LP its license on July 19, 2006.[3]
