KPQ (560 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk format. Licensed to Wenatchee, Washington, USA, the station serves the North Central Washington area. The station's owned by Cherry Creek Radio and features programming from ABC Radio, Premiere Radio Networks and CCR's Washington Ag Network.[1] NewsRadio 560 KPQ began broadcasting May 2, 1928.[2] The station has the region's largest news/ag department with Regional News Director Ed Dawson, longtime local on-air personality Steve Hair (nicknamed the "KPQ Ambassador"), Kimberly James, Dennis Shannon, Maecy Enger, Jack Ferris, Robb Francis, Glenn Vaagen, Kevin Rounce, Jason Taylor and Chris Hansen. John Summers is Regional Program Director. Kevin Andrus is General Manager, while Laura Lawrence fills the role of Sales Manager. Certain news/ag hours through the day are shared as the Northwest NewsRadio Network with sister CCR station NewsRadio 610 KONA, located 135 miles south in the Tri Cities. The dual signals provide regional news up and down the Columbia River Basin, from the Canada–US border to Northern Oregon.
