97.9 The Point signed onto the air on February 17, 2005 on 88.3 FM.

In April 2007, KTPT switched dial positions with KLMP.

On January 4, 2016, KTPT rebranded itself as "97.9 The Breeze" and plays a blend of contemporary worship music, plus songs that will help the listener strengthen their faith.^[1]
