Kaage Bangara (Part:1) is a Kannada film directed by Duniya Soori. This is a prequel to critically acclaimed 2015 movie Kendasampige.
Starring Prashanth Siddi in a prominent role, the movie will also have few new characters not seen in Kendasampige along with a couple of artistes from Kendasampige [1][2] The focus of the story will be on how Prasanth Siddi gets hold of money which the police had seized illegally in Mangalore drug raid in Kendasampige. The story also revolves around three blind people[3]
Produced under the banner Parimala Film Factory, the movie has the cinematography by Satya Hegde and editing by Deepu S. Kumar. V. Harikrishna is the composer of the film background-score and the soundtrack.
Production
It was reported that the movie has two more parts [4] Suri had announced that it would star Prashanth Siddi long with a couple of artistes from Kendasampige. It was also reported that Suri has been scounting for three artistes who can play visually impaired characters -two who are in the agegroup of 45 to 55 and one younger — since the film also depended on them.[5]
Trivia
- This is the first prequel in Kannada movies.
- It is also the third prequel in the South Indian movies after Salem Vishnu (prequel to New Delhi) and Billa II (prequel to Billa). However, both the Tamil prequels were planned only after the success of their sequels which released first.
- Kaage Bangara was a planned prequel as one could get the glimpse of it in Kendasampige.
- Kaage Bangara is thus the first planned prequel amongst the South Indian movies.
- The next part is titled Black Magic.[6][7]

V. Harikrishna composed the film score and the soundtrack for the film, lyrics for which was penned by Jayant Kaikini and Yogaraj Bhat. The soundtrack album consists of hummable tracks.
