Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB) is a fully accredited public high school located in Kansas City, Kansas, USA, serving students in grades Pre-K through 12. The school was established in 1867. It is located on 10 acres (40,000 m2) located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. It opened its doors on September 7, 1868.[1]
History

Commissioners were appointed to locate a State Asylum for the Blind in 1864 and the city of Wyandotte (now part of Kansas City, Kansas) provided 10 acres (40,000 m2) of land.[1] The Kansas Legislature appropriated $20,000 to erect the building in 1867 and it was opened September 7, 1868.[1]
