He moved from his home town club to newly promoted Sporting Fingal before the 2010 League of Ireland season.

Browne made his Republic of Ireland U23 debut in May 2010.[1]

In his one season at Fingal he made 2 appearances in the Europa League.[2][3]

Browne re-signed for Waterford United on 5 December 2010 for the 2011 season.[4]

Browne signed for St Patrick's Athletic for the 2012 season where he would play under former boss Liam Buckley. He won the 2013 League of Ireland, 2014 President's Cup, 2014 Leinster Senior Cup, 2014 FAI Cup and 2015 League of Ireland Cup with the Saints during his four seasons with the club.

On 3 November 2015, Browne announced via Twitter that he would be leaving St Patrick's Athletic after spending four years at the club. Subsequently on 19 November, Cork City announced that Browne had signed for the upcoming 2016 season.[5] He helped Cork win both the President's Cup and the FAI Cup in his first season.
