Kenny Doughty (born 27 March 1975) is an English actor who trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Career
Doughty won the Best Actor award at the Palm Beach International Film Festival in 2005 for his performance in The Aryan Couple.
He is currently playing new regular DS Aiden Healy opposite Brenda Blethyn in ITV's Vera.[2] Following this he will star opposite Sheridan Smith in ITV's Black Work, expected to air mid 2015.[3]
Doughty completed a UK tour of Simon Beaufoy's stage play The Full Monty in 2013. The play, in which Doughty played Gaz,[4] was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2014.[5]
Doughty's previous theatre work includes Peter Gill's Small Change playing in Cardiff; Troilus & Cressida at the Old Vic, directed by Dominic Dromgoole; and Present Laughter at the Royal Exchange Manchester, directed by Matthew Lloyd.
Personal life
Doughty is married to actress Caroline Carver. He is an avid Manchester United football fan.
