Kentucky Route 262 (KY 262) is a 4.7-mile-long (7.6 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The highway connects rural areas of Hopkins with Madisonville.
Route description
KY 262 begins at an intersection with KY 630 (Columbia Schoolhouse Road) west of Madisonville, within Hopkins County, where it continues as Manitou–Richland Road. It travels to the east-southeast and passes the south entrance of Warrior Coal, LLC. It travels underneath a pipeline and a railroad bridge. It crosses over Pogue Creek. The highway enters Madisonville and passes by Hopkins County Public Works and Hopkins County Jail. It crosses over some CSX railroad tracks and then Greasy Creek. KY 262 curves to the southeast and then curves back to the east-southeast. It passes Odd Fellows Cemetery and Browning Springs Middle School. In downtown Madisonville, it passes a U.S. Post Office, crosses over some CSX railroad tracks, and meets its eastern terminus, an intersection with US 41/KY 70 (Main Street/East Center Street).[1]
