Khagga
The Khagga are tribe of Qureshi origin and are said to belong to the Quraish community. They are mostly found in south-west Punjab, Pakistan and mainly speak Seraiki.
Khaggas claim their ancestry from Hazrat Jaffer Tayyar and are descendants of Shah Jalal-ud-Din, who was the disciple of Hazrat Awais Kerni, a saint of Awaisi chain of Sufis. He is believed to have arrived in Multan during the times of Hazrat Sadar-ud-din (son of the Sufi Hazrat Baha-ud-Din Zakariya) and died in the year 700AH/1300AD.

The Khagga are tribe of Arab origin and are said to belong to the arab Shaikh community. They are found in all over the Pakistan and speak Seraiki Khaggas claim to be Qureshi, and are descended from Shah Jalal ud Din Shah Muhammad Khagga, a disciple of the famous Sufi, Mohammed Iraqi. Khagga is the sub continent translation of QURESH, a name of an Arabic fish which dominates all the other sea life. The name QURESH was given to an anscestor of Muhammad . His name was FAHAR] according to traditions, during the period of Sikh rule, if anyone was distressed they could take refuge in the home of any Khaggas house.
