Kimrie Lewis-Davis is an American actress, comedian, and writer. She is best known for her recurring role as Reporter Ashley Davidson on Scandal. She is also known for starring in the movie Tyler Perry Presents Peeples.

Life and career

Lewis-Davis was born in Los Angeles, the daughter of Carol, a news executive producer, and William, a news sound engineer and cameraman. She was raised in South Los Angeles. Her mother’s family is of African American origin. Her father’s ancestry includes African American and Native American. Through her father, she is the great-niece of jazz bassist Charles Mingus.

She graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, with a B.A. in Theatre.[1]

Lewis-Davis recurs as Reporter Ashley in the ABC television series Scandal. [2]

She appeared as Meg in Peeples with Kerry Washington, Craig Robinson and David Alan Grier.[3] She recurred in the ABC Family drama series Chasing Life as Madeline.

She has appeared in several commercials including McDonald's, Sherwin-Williams, and Country Music Television.

In August 2016, TV Line reported Kimrie would guest star in season 5 of the HULU comedy The Mindy Project.[4]
