Kosmos 156

Kosmos 156 was a meteorological satellite launch by the Soviet Union April 27, 1967.[1] This particular satellite was one of nine Kosmos meteorological satellites that was launched between 1965 and 1969.[2] Kosmos 156 was launched on the heels of the Kosmos 122 meteorological mission that was a huge success just the June before. This mission used the 8A92M Rocket that was used just two months before with the Kosmos 144. Kosmos 156 was launched in an orbit close to Kosmos 144 so that together the two satellites would pass over the Soviet Union every six hours.[3] In 1969 the Kosmos 156 was scrapped for the more modern and updated Meteor (satellite).
