Kvalfinnen Ridge

Kvalfinnen Ridge (72°8′S 26°24′E / 72.133°S 26.400°E / -72.133; 26.400Coordinates: 72°8′S 26°24′E / 72.133°S 26.400°E / -72.133; 26.400) is a ridge, 2,670 metres (8,760 ft) high, standing on the west side of Byrdbreen and 0.5 nautical miles (1 km) north of Isachsen Mountain in the Sør Rondane Mountains of Antarctica. It was mapped by Norwegian cartographers in 1957 from air photos taken by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946–47, and named Kvalfinnen (the whale fin) because of its shape.[1]
