Lauren Cornell is Curator and Associate Director, Technology Initiatives at the New Museum in New York City. She was previously executive director of Rhizome. Cornell, along with artist Ryan Trecartin, curated the New Museum's 2015 Triennial.[1]
Background
Lauren Cornell was born and raised in New York City. She started her career in the arts managing the Ocularis microcinema in Brooklyn, NY. In 2005 she joined Rhizome,[2][3] but stepped down as Executive Director in July 2012 to curate the New Museum's Third Generational Triennial in 2015.[4]
Cornell has contributed to publications including Aperture,[5] Art in America, ArtReview, Frieze,[6] and Mousse,[7] and written on artists, such as Basim Magdy,[8] Takeshi Murata[9] and Ryan Trecartin,[10] for monographic catalogues.
