Laurie Sawle

Lawrence Michael "Laurie" Sawle (born 19 August 1925 at East Fremantle, Western Australia) is a former first-class cricketer and chairman of selectors for the Australian national team.

Sawle played for his home state from 1954/55 to 1960/61 as an opening batsman before a distinguished career as state selector in the 1970s, then as a senior WACA administrator, director of the Australian Cricket Board and chairman of selectors for the national team from 1994 to 1997.[1] In his state selector role, Sawle partnered with Alan Edwards and Wally Langdon during the Western Australian team's most successful years.

He is married to Lorna Sawle, with whom he has 3 children, Maryanne, Carmel and Mark.
