Leslie Shows (born 1977) is an American artist who is recognized for expanding the boundaries of landscape painting.[1]

Early life and education

Shows was born in Manteca California, in 1977.[2] Her childhood in Juneau, Alaska had an intense impact on the work she would create as an adult.[2] She received her B.F.A. in 1999 from the San Francisco Art Institute and earned her M.F.A. from the California College of the Arts in 2006.[3]

Work

Leslie Shows' earlier works were mixed-media collages depicting abstracted landscapes.[4] Her more recent paintings, while retaining the use of mixed media, have become more abstracted and focus on mineral textures and geologic features.[4][5]
