Levi Sterling

Levi Sterling (January 2, 1804 October 16, 1868) was an American politician, soldier, and public official.

Born in Woodford County, Kentucky, he moved to Galena, Illinois and then to Mineral Point, Michigan Territory. He served in several public offices in Michigan Territory and later Wisconsin Territory. He served in the Black Hawk War in 1836. In 1838, Sterling served in the Wisconsin Territorial Council of the Wisconsin Territorial Legislature. In 1850-1854, Sterling served in the Wisconsin State Senate. During the American Civil War, Sterling served in the 2nd Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Cavalry.[1][2]
