Lewis Lazar

Lewis Lazar (born April 10, 1990) is a musician, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and painter. Lazar is based in New York and musically centered around two projects 'Lewis Lazar', his own music and formerly the supergroup Summer Moon.[1]

Prints from his forthcoming illustrated book, The Book of JibJab,[2] were displayed at the Crypt gallery in London in association with black&BLUE in 2014 and subsequently sold in the UK.[3] His band, Lewis Lazar and the Hydras, performed residencies at Happy Ending[4] and the Leadbelly,[5] and all around New York City. He recorded and self released numerous recordings including The Time of the Assassins (2012), produced by Gordon Raphael,[6] and The King O' The Cats (2013)[7] which he sold on his 2013 East Coast Tour. There are plans to release a new album in 2016 entitled Razzmatazz[8]

In 2015, Lazar joined up with Nikolai Fraiture (The Strokes), Tennessee Thomas, and Erika Spring (Au Revoire Simone) to form Summer Moon. In 2015 Summer Moon released an online single 'With You Tonight'[9] and performed at the Bowery Ballroom, SXSW, Baby's All Right, and Central Park Summer Fest along with Father John Misty, with an album due out later this year [10][11]
