Liridon Krasniqi (born 1 January 1992) is a Kosovar footballer who plays as an Attacking midfielder for Kedah FA. Before he helped Kedah FA to win 2015 Malaysia Premier League and led the team to the final during Malaysia Cup 2015, he was a professional Kirmes boxer.

Early career

Krasniqi started his youth career at Nürnberg playing 1 year, from where he was released on June 2009.[3]

Club career

Mladá Boleslav

He moved to the youth academies of Czech side Slavia Prague before signing on 2 March 2011 for Mladá Boleslav in Gambrinus Liga, until the end of the 2010–11 season.[4] He played his first and only match on 14 May 2011 against Jablonec 97, coming on as a substitute in the 69th-minute, taking place of Ondřej Kúdela; the match finished as a 2–1 loss.[5]

Ankaraspor

On 29 July 2013 he signed a three-year contract with Turkish First League club Ankaraspor.[1]

Loan to Fethiyespor

Two days later, he was loaned to fellow First League team Fethiyespor.[1] He made it his first debut for Fethiyespor on 18 August 2013 against 1461 Trabzon, playing the full match which finished as a 3–2 loss.[6] On 25 September, he scored his first goal in a match against Kızılcabölükspor valid for the Turkish Cup, were Krasniqi scored in the 64th minute and the match finished as a 3-1 win.[7] On 8 December, Krasniqi scored in the away win 1-5 against Denizlispor, were Krasniqi himself played a spectacular game, scoring in 76th minute a header and also giving two assists, for first goal by Ahmet Aras in 60th minute and latelly goal in 90th+3 minute by Kenan Karisik.[8] He was voted as man of the match and player of the week.[9] On 20 April 2014, Krasniqi scored against Adana Demirspor, match loss on the 3–1 result were he scored the opening goal of the match in the 15th minute.[10]

Kedah FA

On 9 April 2015, Liridon Krasniqi signed a contract with Malaysian Premier League club Kedah FA.[1] He scored his first goal and winning goal for Kedah FA win against Negeri Sembilan FA 2-1 on 17 April 2015. Overall, he scored five goals and provided nine assists in 14 appearances in the Malaysia Premier League season 2015 and help Kedah FA to win their fourth title of Malaysia Premier League and thus promoted to 2016 Malaysia Super League. He scored one goal for Kedah FA against Johor Darul Ta'zim II F.C. in the last match of group stage of 2015 Malaysia Cup. Kedah FA won that game 4-2 and secured a place to the quarter final. Kedah FA managed to go to the final but eventually lose to Selangor FA 0-2. He signed one-year contract extension with Kedah FA for 2016 season. On 9 April 2016, he scored two goals for Kedah FA in 2016 Malaysia Super League draw with Penang FA 2-2. On 30 October 2016, he helped Kedah FA win Malaysia Cup against Selangor FA in Shah Alam Stadium. The match ended at 1-1 after full time and remained the same after extra time. Krasniqi was one of the players who converted his shot in the penalty shootout that ended 6-5 in Kedah's favour.

International career

Krasniqi made one appearance for Albania national under-21 football team on 29 March 2011, in a friendly match against Israel, coming on as a substitute in place of Imran Bunjaku.

His original birthplace country, Kosovo, on 13 January 2014 gained the right to play international friendlies against FIFA member associations.[11] On 5 March 2014 he played his first international friendly match for Kosovo, against Haiti finished in a goalless draw, were Krasniqi came in as a substitute in place of Loret Sadiku in the 71st minute.[12]

Style of play

His main playmaking attributes are vision, ball control, and his passing range and accurate long range passing ability, which allows him to create chances, and provide many assists for teammates and strikers.
