Lisa Prank is an American pop punk band currently based in Seattle, Washington, United States. The band consists of sole founding member Robin Edwards, who performs live with an electric guitar and a Roland MC-505 drum machine. Her finesse at winning the hearts and minds, or otherwise drawing the ire, of Internet goers lies simply in her statement “I just want you to believe in love.”

History

Edwards started the band based out of her hometown of Denver, Colorado. The years of touring experience in her previous band Lust-Cats of the Gutters led to her speedy relevance and nationwide recognition in the feminist and queer music community. [1] Despite the often romantic sentiment of her lyrics, Edwards has received recognition from the male-dominated pop punk community with her cover of Blink 182's "Dammit (Growing Up)" [2] The debut release "Crush on the World" was met with national praise from female-friendly punk rock publications. [3]

She has described her music as "Trapper Keeper pop punk or babysitter punk. It’s music to make out to and also to listen to in your car while you’re driving home feeling sad." [4]

In 2014, Vice Magazine described her song "Crush on the World" positively: "Lisa’s lyrics succinctly communicate my feelings about every relationship I’ve ever had."[5] The dominant local weekly newspaper the Stranger has called Lisa Prank "lo-fidelity fireball." [6] Lisa Prank's alternative punk rock music scene was recently profiled for a feature in a Seattle Weekly feature, "Punk Rock Is Not Bullshit." A photograph of Prank was featured on the front cover of the newspaper. [7]

Lisa Prank has shared the stage with bands such as Waxahatchee, Tacocat and Pony Time. She also has contributed vocals on the upcoming Childbirth album for Suicide Squeeze Records.
