Huang Fuxi and her father Huang Er-Hu run a restaurant called Fortune Restaurant. Her husband left her and her daughter Zhang Yifei years ago. Tong Dafeng, who was supposed to marry Fuxi, left after her act of betrayal. It turns out Fuxi's husband is the Kitchen God, Zhang Dan, and his fate is intertwined with hers. Years ago, he came down from the heavens to try to help match-make Dafeng and Fuxi but in a mistake, ends up getting Fuxi pregnant.

Fuxi faces a restaurant problem with a food poisoning issue and has no choice but to look for Dafeng for help. Dafeng wants her to sell Fortune Restaurant to him, and says he is the cause of her problem. It turns out Dafeng wants revenge after being humiliated and heart-broken when Fuxi had to cancel their wedding plans. To make up to Dafeng, Fuxi decides to sell Fortune Restaurant.

Fuxi gets Fortune Restaurant back through secret help of the Kitchen God. Donghai pretends to be mentally challenged to con money. Fuxi tries to help him but ends up getting Donghai hurt. Thinking that his injuries are severe, she brings him home to recuperate. She realizes that Donghai has problems with his sense of taste. Donghai recalls his painful past.

Dafeng actually still loves Fuxi and comes by Fortune Restaurant. He sees her rushing to the hospital and realizes that Yifei is sick. He tries to help but her condition worsens. The Kitchen God comes down to help Yifei. Just as he is about to leave, he accidentally bumped into Fuxi.

Erhu wants the Kitchen God to return to Fortune Restaurant. He has no choice but to do so. When Fuxi introduces the Kitchen God as Yifei's father to Dafeng, he is shocked. The Kitchen God is initially jealous of Dafeng but when he sees how good Dafeng is to Yifei, he decides to pair Fuxi and Dafeng together.

The Kitchen God and Donghai switch souls and the Kitchen God has no choice but to remain in Fortune Restaurant using Donghai's identity. The fairy Pinhong realizes that Dafeng is still in love with Fuxi. She also realizes that Donghai (the Kitchen God) is working in Fortune Restaurant. She plots her revenge because it was the Kitchen God who revealed that she was in love with a mortal and the heavenly courts not only separated them but banished her to earth.

Pinhong reports about the Kitchen God and he is dragged back to the heavens, and Donghai was swopped back again to his body, remembering the things that happened before he was swopped with the Kitchen God. Pinhong also discovers that Fuxi and Yifei are his family. When she hears that Kitchen God received a small punishment, she gets even angrier and vows revenge on her family.

Pinhong learns that Dafeng wants to open a restaurant opposite Fortune Restaurant. She plans to make use of him to exact her plan for revenge. She convinces Dafeng of her culinary skills and he decides to hire her.
9	"Episode 9"	September 9, 2011	April 2, 2012 PG
Fuxi and Donghai were ran into two robbers. Donghai gets stabbed and suddenly regains his sense of taste. However, he feels that it is Fuxi who has helped him regain his senses. He vows to start anew and cook good dishes again. In a drunken stupor, Erhu tells Donghai he wants to give Fortune Restaurant and Fuxi to him, leaving Donghai feeling very awkward.

Dafeng tells Fuxi that it was ex-girlfriend Jess who created trouble between them. Fuxi explains that she knew this all along. That year, in her sadness, she went drinking and ended up in a one-night stand with Zhang Danyi (the Kitchen God). Realising that she was pregnant, Fuxi decided to call off the wedding. Dafeng is upset that a small misunderstanding caused their break-up. Fuxi tells him to treasure Pinhong.

Rich Restaurant's new menu has the same menu as Fortune Restaurant's. Everyone wonders who betrayed Fortune Restaurant. Donghai questions Pinhong, but when Erhu sees them together, he misunderstands and thinks that Donghai was the one who betrayed them.
12	"Episode 12"	September 14, 2011	April 5, 2012 PG
Pinhong blackmails Fuyuan with some pictures of him. She makes him steal the new menu from Fortune Restaurant and threatens to put his pictures online if he doesn't. Fuyuan is forced to run more illegal errands for Pinhong. He gets caught when the police appear.
13	"Episode 13"	September 15, 2011	April 6, 2012 PG
Fuxi wants to sell Fortune Restaurant. Pinhong asks that Fuxi sells Fortune Restaurant to her. Fuxi refuses and believes that Dafeng wouldn't agree. However when confronted, Dafeng says all decisions can be made by Pinhong. Fuxi is disappointed. Unknown to anyone, Pinhong has cast a love spell on Dafeng and he is now under her control.
14	"Episode 14"	September 16, 2011	April 9, 2012
Fortune Restaurant signs up for the cooking competition, and they had won the semi-finals. Afterwards Fuxi returns to Fortune Restaurant to take her letters, and sees Fortune Restaurant under renovations. When a board falls, and in a bid to save Fuxi, Dafeng pushes her away and they kiss accidentally. This lifts the love spell and Dafeng realizes what Pinhong has done to him.

Dafeng tries to take his revenge on Pinhong but loses and ends up running to Fuxi's place for help. He returns to his company to find that Pinhong has taken over the company. Left with no home or financial resources, Dafeng has no choice but to depend on Fuxi.
16	"Episode 16"	September 20, 2011	April 11, 2012 PG
Fuyuan manages to get Morning to work with him and trick Pinhong into thinking that Fuyuan is her long-lost lover. Pinhong is so happy at seeing her "lover" again that she drops all her plans for revenge. However, Tianqing sees through the trick. When Pinhong finds out, she decides to go on a full-fledge revenge plan.
17	"Episode 17"	September 21, 2011	April 12, 2012 PG Some Disturbing Scenes
Morning tries to extract a magical element from Yifei but fails. The Kitchen God appears and takes down Morning in a small pagoda. Pinhong confronts Kitchen God and they duel, but he manages to subdue her and lock her in the pagoda. Fuxi immediately throws the pagoda into the lake by force. Zhang Dan announced that he is the Kitchen God.
18	"Episode 18"	September 22, 2011 PG	April 13, 2012 PG Violence
Pinhong captures Fuxi and transform into her likeness. She starts to create trouble for Donghai and Dafeng and even causes Erhu to end up in hospital. The Kitchen God is punished and turned into a cockroach. He looks for Yifei and tells her that he is her father. He tells her what Pinhong has done and asks that she get help from the rest.

Pinhong is caught but refuses to tell anyone where Dafeng and Donghai are. The Kitchen God tells her he can help find her lover Qingfeng. She finally relents when she is reunited with Qingfeng. However, it was all an act.
20	"Episode 20 (Finale)"	September 26, 2011	April 17, 2012 PG Some Violence
Fuxi loses part of her memory after being knocked out by Pinhong. She remembers Dafeng, Tianqing and Fuyuan but cannot remember Donghai and Yifei. While Dafeng wants her to forget Donghai, he feels bad that Yifei is sad, and decides to hire a well-known doctor to treat Fuxi. Suddenly, Pinhong re-appears...
