Boundary changes
Following their review of parliamentary representation by the Boundary Commission for England, these 11 constituencies were retained with changes to realign constituency boundaries with the boundaries of current local government wards, and to reduce the electoral disparity between constituencies. These changes were implemented at the United Kingdom general election, 2010.

Conservative 211,043 (40.7%), Labour 168,072 (32.5%), Liberal Democrat 109,601 (21.2%), UK Independence Party 13,654 (2.6%), Independents 5,632 (1.1%), British National Party 3,669 (0.7%), Green Party 2,787 (0.5%), The Macclesfield Independent 2,590 (0.5%), English Democrats 594 (0.1%), The True English (Poetry) Party 298 (0.1%). Total votes: 517,940
